Christmas diary of a very spoilt spaniel

Searching for a bit of Monday night cheer I have been flicking through photos of the Christmas break. The most lovely thing in all the pictures being my gorgeous spaniel Danny.

He seemed to have a delightful Christmas holiday despite being left in the car on the 8 hour ferry trip to France (it was that or the kennels!). He soon got over the travel fatigue...

A cuddle with me certainly helped. He does like to sit on my lap and sleep, but there was too much excitement around the room for him to sleep...

He certainly liked out visit to Hotel Le Fort de l'Ocean, where he positioned himself at my feet in anticipation of leftovers coming his way...
And he didn't seem in any way phased by the hog roast, in fact he spent most of that evening in front of the fire (and the pig) getting his tummy rubbed...
Finally, on Christmas day, the tiredness caught up with him. He proceeded to sleep for 9 hours straight, before eating half the leftover turkey (when my hilariously thoughtless brother left the pantry door open) the next day. But that's what Boxing Day is for...right?

Words are all well and good

But then you go through your picture library and see these...

Maybe it's just me, but in this instance I'll say pictures do just a good job. Just for once.

The Famous Danny the Dog

One of the highlights of the last week in Devon was spending time with the gorgeous Daniel the Spaniel. I wanted share some pictures I took in a peaceful day on Slapton sands beach.

Danny loves to swim, he can swim along in the sea for miles and miles and he is also pretty strong which means he will tackle the lively waters of our local rivers. On this day he pestered mum and I to throw stones into the water for him to catch and then paddled along happily only looking over to shore to check we were keeping up with him as we walked along.

If you look carefully in picture 2 you might spot the Red Arrows sweeping past in the sky.

Thank you Joanna

Thank you to Joanna at A Cup of Jo for putting up my pictures of Danny and giving him his much deserved fifteen minutes of fame. He makes me deeply happy, and I'm glad others feel the same.

p.s. To those who sensibly commented that the chicken in the post below might be afraid, the first picture is evidence of their mutual respect for each other!
